The Laika, indigenous medicine people in Peru who can trace their lineage
back to the Inka, recognize four levels of reality. The first is the
physical level, the second is the level of the mind that informs the
body to create psychosomatic disease or health, and the third level
is the level of soul (which informs the mind and the body). The fourth
level is the level of spirit. And when the shaman intervenes on the
level of the spirit, she believes that intervention will inform her
client on every level.
To intervene on the level of spirit, the Laika do not treat the body
or the mind, but the luminous energy field that surrounds the physical
body. Using this knowledge, and tools for luminous healing, we can learn
to shift our health on every level. Through the practice of energy medicine,
we can change our tendencies toward disease. We can intervene to re-inform
our health on the cellular level.

Goal: Attendees will leave with a basic understanding of the shamanic
"Illumination Process" used to correct energetic imprints
that can predispose us to experience certain negative patterns or health
problems.
Learning Objectives:
-Participants will learn how the four levels of mind-body-soul-spirit
work together to create heath. They will learn how the shaman differentiates
between treating a symptom from treating physical or emotional problems
on the level of the energetic.
-Attendees will have an experience of their own luminous energy field,
which surrounds and informs the physical and emotional body.
-Students will learn the basics of the "Illumination Process"
which allows us to track for and clear unhealthy imprints in the Luminous
Energy Field.
Closing Statement: Evolutionary quantum leaps have always occurred when
we have been faced with extraordinary change. They have not always been
successful, as 99 out of every 100 species that have existed on the
planet have perished. At the turn of the Millennium we are again at
such a threshold, and are rediscovering the spiritual and neurological
tools that medicine peoples and visionaries have mastered so elegantly-and
used to quantum leap into the future. These new brain capabilities allow
one to enter a domain not bound by the ordinary definitions of space
and time, where one can hear the voices of the ancient ones in the wind,
heal one's past, and summon one's destiny.
Shamanism is based on the teachings of the Earth, and direct communion
with nature. Dr. Villoldo's response to the mainstream Western view
of shamanism as animistic is to agree. He says, " Trees speak to us,
clouds speak to us and rivers talk to us. Rivers don't lie. This is
a return to a consciousness that was so familiar to us in the past,
one that reason and logic and industry have displaced from our horizon
almost completely. We live in an inanimate world. Part of our duty today
is to reanimate our World. The word anima comes from the Greek, and
it means soul. It is to put the soul back into the world."
Alberto Villoldo PhD,
Dr Villoldo is a psychologist, medical anthropologist and author of
more than ten books on shamanism and mind-body healing, including Shaman,
Healer, Sage, and Dance of the Four Winds. He has investigated
the traditions of the Andes and the Amazon for more than 25 years, resulting
in the development of a body of shamanic knowledge that is readily accessible
to the West. He provides us with a scientific framework through which
we can learn the ancient art of bridging worlds, cultures, and ideas.
